Background

After graduating from the University of Oregon with a degree in both Mathematics and Theater Arts, Nathan moved to Chicago and earned his M.F.A. in Acting. While there, he worked as a theatre producer, actor, director, and playwright before moving to Portland in 2015, where he began his career in insurance and bonding.

Nathan comes to LaPorte with a deep understanding of both the construction and energy industries, specifically having focused on building robust surety bond programs for new clients who have never needed bonding before.

Nathan sits on the Professional Development Committee of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers and is on their Commercial Surety School faculty. He is also the incoming President of the Surety Association of Oregon for 2021.

As Bond Manager and Sales Executive at LaPorte Insurance, Nathan takes pride in taking a unique approach to complex risk management and financial services problems, working with both clients and carriers to provide creative and cost-effective surety bond and commercial insurance solutions.
